Riflettiamo. Dopo oltre un anno di feroci combattimenti non si intravede nemmeno uno spiraglio di luce per uscire dal tragico tunnel del conflitto militare tra Ucraina e Russia. Riflettiamo.
Da mesi venti di guerra soffiano impetuosi come mai in passato attraverso lo stretto di Taiwan e nell’intera regione del mar della Cina.
Ma quale caso è esploso all’interno del circo mediatico di cui tutti, volenti o nolenti, siamo immersi? Quel circo mediatico che, tanto per parlare di Tibet, ha passato quasi sotto completo silenzio l’atroce catena di oltre 150 tibetani che, nel corso di questi ultimi anni, si sono dati fuoco per protestare contro l’occupazione del loro Paese da parte della Cina Popolare.
Il caso del Dalai Lama che scherza con un bambino indiano.
Mai come in questa occasione dovremmo rifarci al titolo di una delle più note commedie shakespeariane “Much Ado About Nothing (Molto Rumore per Nulla)”. Non è infatti successo niente e solo la frenesia incontrollata diffusa a piene mani nei cosiddetti “social” può spiegare questa tempesta in un bicchier d’acqua.
Ormai, quasi alla soglia dei 90 anni, Sua Santità il XIV Dalai Lama del Tibet, non ha perso la freschezza, la levità, l’ironia, la giocosità, che lo contraddistinguono.
Per sua e per nostra fortuna. L’episodio in questione non è altro che un’espressione di queste qualità del Dalai Lama. Lo ha fatto pubblicamente, davanti a telecamere e microfoni accesi. Quando ha avuto la sensazione che il suo scherzo potesse essere stato male interpretato dal bambino e dalla sua famiglia, che peraltro era presente accanto al bambino, si è detto dispiaciuto di questo malinteso. Sembrerebbe anche inutile ricordare in questa sede il significato del tradizionale saluto con la lingua di fuori nella cultura tibetana.
Tutto qui. Il resto è solo un triste e patetico “Much Ado About Nothing (Molto Rumore per Nulla)”. Peraltro i pochissimi che si sono peritati di cercare il seguito del filmato dopo il momento “incriminato” hanno visto come sia andata a finire, con il Dalai Lama che impartisce un insegnamento al bambino che lo abbraccia affettuosamente sorridendo. Il pubblico, oltre 120 persone, non si è alzato sdegnato ed è uscito ma alla fine ha applaudito. Tutto questo accadeva 40 giorni fa. C’è anche da chiedersi il perché di questa così tardiva e improvvisa “attenzione” a questo episodio.
Ora, cosa dovremmo fare noi amici del Tibet, sostenitori della causa del popolo tibetano e del pensiero del Dalai Lama? Quali risposte fornire di fronte a ricostruzioni capziose dell’episodio e a commenti deliranti, biliosi, assurdi, violenti (c’è chi non ha avuto paura di sfidare il senso del ridicolo spingendosi a parlare “gesto di tentata pedofilia”)? Semplice. Mettere in pratica gli insegnamenti di Sua Santità e spiegare con calma chi è il Dalai Lama e come continua ad esprimere quella qualità che il grande Maestro Zen Shunryu Suzuki-roshi definiva “Mente Zen Mente di principiante”. Vale a dire un’attitudine interiore aperta, giocosa, serena. Cerchiamo di mettere in pratica quell’intelligenza del buon senso che è uno dei pochissimi antidoti che si hanno contro la stupidità e la miseria mentale. Poi chi vorrà (e potrà) comprendere come le cose stanno realmente, lo farà. Altri continueranno per la loro strada.

Let’s reflect. After more than a year of fierce fighting, no one

Never as on this occasion should we refer to the title of one of the best known Shakespearean comedies “Much Ado About Nothing” In fact, nothing happened and only the widespread uncontrolled frenzywith full hands in the so-called “social” can explain this storm in a glass of water.
By now, almost on the threshold of 90 years, His Holiness the XIV Dalai Lama of Tibet, has not lost its freshness, levity, irony, playfulness, which distinguish him. For him and for our luck. The episode in question is nothing but an expression of these qualities of the Dalai Lama. He did publicly, in front of cameras and microphones turned on. When he has I had a feeling his joke might have been bad played by the child and his family, who, moreover, was present next to the child, said he was sorry of this misunderstanding. Now what should we friends of Tibet, supporters of the cause, do of the Tibetan people and the thought of the Dalai Lama? What answer to provide in front of captious reconstructions of the episode and comments delusional, bilious, absurd, violent (there are those who have not been afraid of challenge the sense of ridicule by going so far as to speak “a gesture of attempted paedophilia”) ? Simple. Put His Holiness teachings into practice and calmly explain who the Dalai Lama is and how he continues to express that quality that the great Zen Master Shunryu Suzuki-roshi called “Zen Mind Beginner’s Mind”. That means an open, playful, serene inner attitude. We try to put in practice that intelligence of common sense which is one of the very few antidotes one has against stupidity and mental misery. Then whoever wants (and can) understand how things really are will do so.
